Bringing the Office Home

I love old office furniture. It's sturdy, classic and speaks of productivity. I think that having it in my house buys me much leeway in terms of laziness...

When I was a kid, this small filing cabinet lived in the back of my parents' bedroom closet. The contents were strictly off-limits, since it held all their vital papers. Maybe it was the forbidden aspect that fuelled my interest.

Years have passed and I've inherited it. It's just too nice to hide away and our vital papers are stored in a more modern piece, so I've put it to work in the kitchen, holding table cloths and napkins and the ever-important aloe plant.

My rule of decorating is, if you love it, show it off and put it to use.

I wondered where that went...

Glad to see it put to happy use, though I'd still feel intimidated fetching out the napkins.

We're NOT supposed to go in there!!

I remain a little intimidated.... Though finally being taller than it does help to provide some perspective!

Thanks for writing in!
