Thrifted Must Haves

There are certain things I will always snap up when I see them in a thrift store, whether I have an immediate use for them or not.

The list so far:
buttons
shells
maps
What are your Must Haves?

Hmmmm, good question! I stopped buying stuff awhile back as I was feeling overwhelmed by having too much, so I am out of the habit of thrifting for myself!

But when I do go, I am always looking for original art, line drawings or paintings, old books, frames, maps. Those are probably my tops right now, of course, anything could strike my fancy and I might just have to have it!

Since I repurpose most of the stuff I buy for mosaics, I am always on the look out for vintage plates, silver plated trays and teapots, vintage tables, vintage costume jewelry and more plates.

Thanks, you two. It's always fun to know what others can't pass up.

Though it is good to keep the clutter at bay...

a little late on this post but I just found your Blog this morning. I am enjoying it!!
I can never pass up an old ruler or yardstick -I have them in vases and sap buckets here and there-I hope to one day have enough to create "wainscoating" in some part of my house.

Mary - if you check back to this, I'd love to see a picture of your yardstick project when it's done. It sounds like a great idea!

I've also seen old rulers and yardsticks used to edge shelving. Just another idea to add to the pile, though not as fun as wainscotting.
