I've Found My Look

OK, I know when people say that, they're usually talking about what looks good on them. But, really, I haven't got a clue about that.

What I mean, is that I've found my look for where I live. And it's this - a pale colour on the walls and white trim.

I've been doing this since we owned our second house. The first one had natural wood trim. Everyone said I'd regret it if I painted over it. I was so young, I listened.

I never tire of this combination. To my eye, anyway, it always looks fresh, clean and soothing.

Now if only I could figure out my footwear...

Love the look and I am OK with footwear. It is the rest of the outfit that i never quite get right!

Love the look! I used that same look in my first house and have always loved the simplicity and peacefulness of it! I've repeated it many other times through the years.

Footwear? Sensible shoes are the way to go if you want to get more done in life! I'm all about my runners. How else would I fly up and down three flights of stairs at lightening speed all day?

Have a great day,
Melissa

Plus, when your favourite way to spend time is sitting in a restaurant with your feet under the table, what does it matter?

Margaret, add "Volleyball, ironing and Physics".

Can't help with the footwear ... the selection of footwear in my closet consists of two different colored pairs of crocs, one badly splattered with paint and stain because they are the MOST comfortable shoes to work in, and one pair of 'berks, for the occasions when I MUST dress up ...

Just wanted to comment on your choice to paint the woodwork ... I, too, love gloss white woodwork and soothing colors on the walls. I have lived with badly scarred and discolored knotty pine paneling for too long ... because the two most important men in my life (my husband and my dad) both insist that "if it's wood, it CAN'T be painted!) Well, that will change real soon ...

I lurk on your site, and have finally ventured out into wild world of blog'ville! Thanks for all the inspiration!!

Looks like Benjamin Moore Navajo white which I just used in a room...that subtle contrast you have is great!

It's actually more of a soft green. But I'm glad you like it!
