A Beach Getaway

Alan and I went off to the beach for the August Bank Holiday.

My sister and her family rent a cottage every year and very kindly ask us up to visit.

We were trying to put our finger on why it is this lifestyle beckons us (my sister and I - it doesn't actually beckon Alan, but he's a very accomodating guy).

It's certainly not the decor, though I give them five points for the reuse of liquor bottles...

But there's a big beach, fresh air, copious amounts of junk food. And the opportunity to just relax. At any given moment, whatever was going on, you could count on the fact that at least one of the party had drifted off to sleep. Lovely.
