Gleanings
One of the things I love about buying old houses is seeing what gets left behind when the previous owners move out. Were they too tired to pack it? Do they think it's junk and they're getting away with something by leaving it behind? Did they just forget to check the basement? Who knows?
Most people would just call in the junk man and be done with it. But I think we've established, I'm not like most people....
I found two old clip racks in the basement of our current building. I'm guessing they were used to display chips or other things-in-bags in a shop at some point. They were a bit too worn-looking for use in the food shop when we had it, but the first Christmas we were here I thought about them. The cards were cluttering up the mantel and I wanted a tidier display. I brought them up and cleaned them. They now hang either side of the pass-through between the living room and kitchen.
I can display all the lovely cards my friends send me and I don't have to move them when I dust (OK - IF I dust)!

What lovely light you have in nyour home, and the card clip is a nice addition!
Love the idea. Now I want to hunt some of those down for the upcoming holiday season!
If only I had more, Sondra!
And, yes, Corey, we're very lucky with the light in this place - it's one of the things I really love about it!
And I really loved your post today (Where Are Your Wings)...
Super Idea & we got treated to a sneak peak into your place. I love the light & the soothing colours!
