New Blogger's Series - Leave Your Questions Here

Hi, it's my turn to take over from Felicity at All Things Bright and Beautiful for the New Blogger's Series.

So if you've questions, please leave them in the comments section of this post and I'll try to get them answered for you.

Of course, I'm pretty new to all of this, so if you see a question and you know the answer, feel free to post that, too. I really, really, really won't mind!

Hi Barb--thanks for inviting to play 7 random things! I posted it and that was FUN!
Here's my question for blogging: If a pic is in Flickr in the "common" area (I think this is what it is called) is it OK to use the pic and give credit to the photographer?

Good question Tara. I will research and post my findings next Saturday!

Another one Barb...(sorry you asked??) I notice some blogs have a "frame" around their pics, how does that occur? Is that a blogger function?

Hi Barb - thank you for continuing to help those of us just starting out. I have a home renovation blog and I am struggling with the photos I post. I can't seem to ever get the "finished" look seen in other blogs. What am I doing wrong? Are they dragging kleig lights into the room? How do I properly light a whole room for a photograph? (Just discovered your blog and love it. It is perfect source for me!)

The frame question has me stumped. It happens automatically in my blog, but not yours. So maybe it depends on what template you use?

I'm sure there's something in the code...

And, My Gilt Trip, I'll work on your question, too. In the meantime, is anyone out there familiar with Mac blogging software? I've never worked with it.

I do think the frame thing is what ever template you are posting in. My scribe template doesn't do frames automatically, but there are some free photo sites out there that are great for editing: Picasa and Photofiltre are 2 that are very good.

I'm still trying to figure out how to change fonts and add to sidebars. I see that Felicity has done this but I think she has a Mac. Can anyone walk me through adding a cursive pretty font to a sidebar text?? Thanks!

I've learned a few things by trial and error and asking questions seems to be the best way to find out.

tara - not sure what youre talking about the frame - but if its the polaroid look your after - lcopy a frame that you like and insert into word
Word is a bit of a clunky program to be doing this in but you need to
go to INSERT in the file menu, PICTURE and then FROM FILE. click on the picture and go to FORMAT, then
PICTURE (at the bottom of the menu), then LAYOUT, then BEHIND TEXT.
The insert the pc that youre wanting to frame using the same steps above - tho not behind text Once the
picture you waant to frame is on top of the frame is on the page you can move it around and frame
