Stymied!!!!!

I don't think it's fair to show off all my triumphs, without sharing the occasional failure.

Megan at Beach Bungalow 8 showed this magtable from Umbra (and then Elizabeth at A Browner Brown showed it, too).

It's a very cool idea. I think it looks like a shutter. I have a bunch in my basement, as well as a box of table legs(doesn't everybody?).

Easy, I thought. Just cut the shutter in half and I'll have two small magtables.....

Unfortunately, it's a very well-made shutter, composed of either the hardest wood on earth, or there is a metal insert in there. Tried sawing from either side and just got stuck! Ugh!

There will be wood-filler and touch-up paint. And I'm now faced with deciding whether or not to go ahead with the project using the whole shutter. I mean, would anyone want a five foot long magtable? Would I?

I need to think about this. I'll keep you posted!

THANK you for your gracious comment! I'll be sure to tell Bernard (my dog) that he's the star of the show.

I'd love to add you to my blogroll; that's alright with you, yes?

Keep posting your failures--- they're incredibly inspiring in the weirdest way!!!

My shop is open from Victoria Day weekend (in May) till just before Christmas (December).

Thought I'd make it easy for my customers to remember when I'm open...

Plus it fits in with the whole old/new thing.
